Prix AICA France de la critique d’art : Retrospective of the 2013–16 prizes and Klaus Speidel, 2015 prizewinner, presents Benjamin Hugard: Useful Abstraction

The Canadian Cultural Centre presents two exhibitions featuring the winners of the AICA France de la Critique d’Art prize.

The ground-floor gallery presents the retrospective of the filmed performances of all the art critics who championed their artists since the founding of the prize in 2013, as well as a work by each of the artists chosen by the prizewinners (Anne Tronche, Marie-Cécile Burnichon, Marc Lenot, Mathilde Roman, Klaus Speidel and J. Emil Sennewald).

In the main gallery, Klaus Speidel, the 2015 prizewinner, presents Benjamin Hugard. With Useful Abstraction, Speidel and Hugard pursue the exploration of the ways of constructing images and of the systems of representation, particularly that of advertising photography.

Exceptional opening, Nuit Blanche, Saturday, October 1, 6 p.m.–midnight, and on the occasion of the FIAC, Saturday, October 22, 12–6 p.m.

The exhibition is organized in partnership with the French section of the Association Internationale des Critiques d’Art (AICA France). It kicks off the Semaine des Cultures Étrangères and the festivities of the 15th anniversary of the Forum des Instituts Culturels Étrangers à Paris (FICEP).
